One that does not come naturally for me-it is something I have learned to do by watching others...you could say I like to cut through the "small talk" section of getting to know people and get down to what they are really about ... however, I have come to realize that for some going from meeting someone to asking them about the deep recesses of their heart all in a day can come across really awkward and out-of-place. Plus, without the lighter conversations, you could miss out on some of the simple things to appreciate about your friends. So I have started to learn the value of "small talk" as a building block in friendships. It has become a discipline for me be more timely in my words and questioning- that it's not so random that it throws off the conversation all together.
I have actually come to enjoy light conversation especially ones that involve laughter or some good ole bathroom humor! Ha!
i like you, stace! you are fun.
